Belarusian government approved a draft Agreement between the energy ministries of Belarus and Russia approving the Rules for the functioning of the unified electricity market of the Union State as a basis for negotiations.
The corresponding resolution was signed by Prime Minister Aliaksandr Turchyn.
The resolution was drafted to implement the law on the ratification of the treaty between Belarus and Russia on establishing the unified electricity market of the Union State, signed in December 2025. The law provides the Energy Ministry and the Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade with powers to manage and operate the unified electricity market.
The Energy Ministry is granted the authority to sign the Rules for the functioning of the unified electricity market of the Union State.
