Belarus’ foreign trade deficit in goods and services continued to narrow, according to data from the National Bank of Belarus.
In January-April, exports of goods and services rose 15.4% year-on-year to $17.99 billion, while imports increased 11.5% to $18.3 billion. The deficit in trade in goods and services totaled $325 million, down 61% from the same period last year.
Exports of goods increased 11.9% to $13.7 billion in January-April, while imports rose 10.6% to $15.62 billion. The goods trade deficit amounted to $1.9 billion, up 1.8% from a year earlier.
Exports of services grew 28% over the four-month period to $4.28 billion. Imports of services increased 17.1% to $2.7 billion. The services trade surplus reached $1.58 billion, up 52.1% from the same period last year.
