Residents of Homiel say they heard a sound characteristic of a military drone flying overhead at around 3 a.m., followed by an explosion, Flagstok reported. Earlier, at around 2 a.m., the sound of a drone was also reported in Dobrush.
“Judging by the sound, the drone circled around, moving farther away and then closer again before flying off,” one witness told the outlet.
“It grew louder over Liubenski district and then moved away, seemingly toward the bridge to Chenki,” another Homiel resident wrote on social media.
At least two districts of the city — Chyhunachny district (Sielmashauski neighborhood) and Savetski district (Shvedskaya Horka neighborhood) — reported hearing the sound of an “explosion” between 3 a.m. and 4 a.m. It is not known whether there was one drone or several. There is also no information about the type of drone involved. State media and authorities have not commented on the reported incident.
