The traffic police have warned of increased road control during the long holiday period. As the Interior Ministry’s press service reported, this will include the exchange of road patrol crews between districts. The Strela special unit will also be deployed on the roads.
“Under the close attention of traffic police officers are serious violations of traffic rules by both drivers and pedestrians. Inspectors will monitor compliance with speed limits, manoeuvring rules and the safe transportation of passengers. At the same time, the practice of exchanging road patrol service crews between neighbouring districts will be used. Patrol units of the Strela special road patrol service unit of the Interior Ministry will also be involved in preventive measures,” the statement said.
Taking weather conditions into account, the traffic police are also urging drivers to plan long trips in advance, properly prepare their vehicles for travel and choose a restrained driving style.
