US Secretary of State Marco Rubio held a telephone conversation on Tuesday with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
According to the State Department, the call took place at the initiative of the Russian side.
“They discussed US-Russia relations, the Russia-Ukraine war and Iran”, the US foreign policy agency said.
According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, Lavrov and Rubio “compared positions on the current situation in international affairs and Russian-American relations, and also discussed the schedule of bilateral contacts”. It noted that the conversation was constructive and businesslike.
