Residents of Homiel report loud sounds in the sky. They were heard in Volatava and Stary Aerodrom at around 5:25 a.m. today, Flagshtok reports.

Social media users describe the sound as “a terrifying crack and rumble” and “a loud rumble.” Some wrote that it sounded like a low-flying aircraft.

“It was as if something flew past very quickly and very loudly, we even woke up,” “I suddenly woke up from the sound, it wasn’t clear what it was, I thought a plane was flying very low,” “I live at the airfield, I woke up from a loud rumble,” Homiel residents wrote on social media.

At the time, Russia’s massive attack on Ukraine was continuing. According to monitoring channels, Russian jet-powered drones were flying along the Belarusian-Ukrainian border from Dobrush District to Brahin District.

“Another group of Russian jet-powered drones was moving along the border from around 4 to 5 a.m. Missiles were also flying toward Kyiv and Boryspil from the north and east at the same time,” the outlet writes.

The outlet suggests that an attempt may have been made to shoot down a drone in the Homiel area.
