National Bank Board Chairman Raman Halouchanka believes that decisions must be taken on troubled enterprises in Vitsyebsk Region, even if they prove to be “painful”. He made the statement after taking part in a meeting of the Vitsyebsk Regional Executive Committee.
According to him, the meeting reviewed the results of the current year and the tasks for the next one, making it important to identify “problem areas”. Halouchanka said he was confident in the potential of Vitsyebsk Region.
“I believe that the region has serious prospects for increasing the pace of work in a number of areas. But the special focus, of course, what I drew attention to today, is the financial sustainability of certain enterprises in Vitsyebsk Region that, so to speak, have been in a chronically difficult financial situation. And I drew the attention of the regional leadership to the fact that decisions must ultimately be taken on them, even if for some reasons they are painful. The chairman of the regional executive committee understands this situation very adequately and also conveyed such a position today. But overall, once again, the region is working in difficult conditions. We see that people are generally mobilised, committed to work, the leadership understands its tasks and understands how to implement in the region the measures or messages that are laid down in the country’s five-year development programme,” he said.
Halouchanka ultimately concluded that it is necessary to “roll up one’s sleeves” and that “everyone must work hard and conscientiously”.
