The Financial Investigations Department of the State Control Committee reported the detention of the chief veterinarian of a poultry farm while receiving a bribe. The illegal remuneration was intended in exchange for selecting a supplier of veterinary drugs.

According to the State Control Committee, the bribe was given by a deputy director of a state veterinary institution. The payment was made in the interests of a supplier company whose head was the partner of the person who paid the bribe.

“For the purposes of concealment, the money was transferred through a chain of intermediaries from among close associates in US dollars, after which one of the intermediaries exchanged it into Russian rubles, which were then handed over to the bribe recipient. The chief veterinarian of the poultry farm was caught red-handed while receiving the bribe. More than 600,000 Russian rubles, equivalent to 8,000 US dollars, were found in his car,” the State Control Committee said.

A criminal case has been initiated.

During procedural actions, funds in foreign currencies and gold bars were seized, and the suspect’s property was placed under arrest.
