The United Transitional Cabinet has awarded 14 individuals with the Cross of Freedom, the Francysk Skaryna Medal, the “Honor and Dignity” medal, the “For Fruitful Work for the Benefit of Belarus” medal, and the “Unconquered” medal (named after Larisa Heniush).
The laureates were nominated by civil society organizations and activists and approved by the Awards Commission under the United Transitional Cabinet.
Human rights defender and Nobel Peace Prize laureate Ales Bialiatski was awarded the Cross of Freedom.
Politician, scholar, and public figure Alyaksandr Milinkevich received the Francysk Skaryna Medal.
Public activist, military figure, and statesman Siarhei Bahukalets was awarded the “Honor and Dignity” medal.
Maria Kalesnikava will receive the “Unconquered” medal for personal courage and resilience.
The “For Fruitful Work for the Benefit of Belarus” medal was awarded to Ukrainian diplomat and former Ambassador of Ukraine to Belarus Ihor Kizim, Ukrainian political scientist Yevhen Mahda, Ukrainian church historian Oleh Turii, Belarusian writer Sviatlana Kurs, military chaplain of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine Yevhen Orda, Belarusian and British biblical scholar Karalina Matskevich, Belarusian theater actress Krystsina Drobysh, theater and film actor Ihar Sihau, Belarusian poet, writer, and presenter Valyaryna Kustava, and Belarusian actor and presenter Siarhei Chub.
