Belarus’ Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade did not support a proposal by gas station chains to abolish price regulation for retail outlets located at filling stations.
The proposal to repeal the provisions of Resolution No. 713 was submitted by gas station chains and discussed at a working meeting attended by representatives of the Belneftekhim concern and the companies “A-100 AZS”, “Gazpromneft-Belnefteprodukt”, “LUKOIL Belorussiya”, and “Tatbelnefteprodukt”. Following discussions and an analysis of the potential impact on consumers, the majority of participants did not support the initiative.
Work on improving the current price regulation system is continuing, the ministry’s press service said.
