Aliaksandr Lukashenka will pay a visit to the DPRK on March 25–26, his press service reported.
The visit will take place at the invitation of Kim Jong Un, who was recently re-elected Chairman of State Affairs of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.
Lukashenka is expected to hold talks with Kim Jong Un. According to the press service, the sides will discuss “the full range of areas of development of Belarusian–Korean relations, identify key areas of mutual interest, and the most promising projects for implementation.”
“The upcoming visit is intended to strengthen the legal and contractual framework of relations and contribute to the intensification of bilateral cooperation,” the statement said.
It is recalled that in 2024–2025, Belarus and the DPRK exchanged visits at the level of foreign ministers. In September last year, during ceremonial events in Beijing, Lukashenka held talks with Kim Jong Un on the sidelines. At that time, Lukashenka’s press service reported that the North Korean leader had invited him to Pyongyang.
