KGB officers conducted interviews with former political prisoners in one of Belarus’ small towns, the Viasna Human Rights Centre reported.

According to the organisation, committee officers arrived in the town and summoned people who had been convicted under “extremism”-related articles, including former political prisoners.

They were asked about their contacts with people living abroad and whether they were planning to leave the country. In addition, former political prisoners were asked to hand over their mobile phones, which were then connected to an unspecified device.
