Belarus Looks to Further Intensify Dialogue With Brazil

Belarus is ready to continue intensifying bilateral dialogue with Brazil in all areas of mutual interest, Belarus’s ambassador to Brazil Andrey Andreyev said at a meeting with Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva in the city of Salvador.

According to the Belarusian Embassy in Brazil, an event of the Workers’ Party took place there on February 7, 2026, during which Lula da Silva announced the launch of the “New Spring” initiative aimed at mobilizing supporters of the Brazilian leader.

The head of the Belarusian diplomatic mission conveyed to the Brazilian president words of support from Alyaksandr Lukashenka in connection with the upcoming elections in Brazil. He said that Belarus and Brazil share “an internal ideology of building a strong and socially oriented state, as well as an aspiration for a sustainable and fair world order.” He emphasized that Belarus views Brazil as a reliable partner and is ready to “continue intensifying bilateral dialogue in all areas of mutual interest.”

During the event, Andreyev also met with Brazilian Vice President Geraldo Alckmin. The sides discussed “priority issues in the development of economic cooperation.”

Following a meeting with Bahia Governor Jerônimo Rodrigues, previously reached agreements were reaffirmed on “studying concrete areas of mutually beneficial cooperation.”
