100 Lithuanian Trucks Have Returned From Belarus To Lithuania

The number of trucks with Lithuanian registration that have returned to Lithuania from Belarus has reached 100. This was reported by Giedrius Mišutis, a representative of Lithuania’s State Border Guard Service, to ELTA.

According to him, 45 vehicles crossed through the Medininkai checkpoint and 55 through Šalčininkai.

In total, according to Belarus’s State Customs Committee, more than 1,900 vehicles had been held at special parking sites. They had been detained in Belarus since November last year, when Alyaksandr Lukashenka ordered trucks with Lithuanian registration to be moved to designated sites and charged parking fees.

On Monday, following talks with the United States, he decided that the trucks could leave Belarusian territory once their owners paid the parking fees.
