Belstat has published the results of a household sample survey conducted in 2025 to study employment issues. As part of the survey, the unemployment rate is calculated in accordance with the methodology of the International Labour Organization.
Last year, the employment rate among the population aged 15–74 stood at 68.5%, while the unemployment rate amounted to 2.5% of the labour force. Compared with 2024, the unemployment rate decreased by 0.5 percentage points. The employment rate increased by 1 percentage point.
The unemployment rate among both women and men was 2.5%. Female unemployment fell by 0.2 percentage points, while male unemployment declined by 0.9 percentage points.
The employment rate among the working-age population last year stood at 85.1% (+1.1 percentage points), including 85.6% (+0.8 percentage points) among women and 84.5% (+1.2 percentage points) among men.
Rural residents accounted for 20% of those employed, while 80% lived in urban areas. The average age of employed persons was 42.5 years.
