Belarusian Railway has sent six through trains to Uzbekistan in the month since the launch of the “Slavic Caravan” project. They have delivered more than 24,000 tonnes of Belarusian export cargo.
The train route runs through Russia and Kazakhstan. It is formed at Orsha-Vostochnaya station, from where mixed trains carrying wood-processing and food industry products, petroleum products and chemicals travel to Chukursai freight station within Tashkent, after which the cargo is distributed to various regions of Uzbekistan.
For now, Belarusian Railway sends the trains once a week, but expects them to run more frequently as the volume of freight transportation grows.
