The United States has briefed Ukraine on talks held in Russia. CIA Director John Ratcliffe arrived in Moscow on August 25. He is known to have met with Russian Foreign Intelligence Service Director Sergei Naryshkin.
Zelenskyy stressed that the US side had used the “necessary tone” during the talks.
“Today, we received information from the American side about the meetings in Moscow that took place in recent days. A number of meetings were held there. We spoke with the American side beforehand, and we are speaking with them now. I am grateful for the information and for the necessary tone in the conversation with Russia.
We appreciate the coordination of our steps and the fact that America is advancing a very realistic vision of what needs to be done and what must be done. Russia must end its war, and all the necessary conditions must be created for this to happen,” Zelenskyy said in a video address on August 28.
