Belarusian Prime Minister Alyaksandr Turchyn said he hopes that the creation of duplicate production facilities in Russia will be ruled out with the signing of new documents, including those related to Union State goods.

“We very much hope that the documents being adopted will allow us to reach a new operational level within the Union, to build constructive work in the common market, and to exclude the creation of duplicate and excessive production facilities. Between the regions of Belarus and Russia, there are highly developed cooperative ties. Take, for example, our BelAZ, which is a leading global manufacturer of mining equipment. This is a full-fledged Union State product of world-class level. Almost 50 percent of its components are produced in the Russian Federation,” he said.

At the same time, Turchyn noted that documents adopted by the two countries do not always demonstrate high efficiency in their implementation.

He called for the fastest possible acceleration of tasks related to digital transformation.

“In this regard, it is fundamentally important to максимально accelerate and complete the implementation of measures on the recognition of electronic digital signatures in electronic documents during cross-border information interaction,” he added.

He also spoke in favor of developing cooperation at the level of small and medium-sized enterprises.

“In the Republic of Belarus, work is continuing on the creation of an information system — a Digital Platform for small and medium-sized enterprises. As it is developed, digital services and databases of the Russian SME digital platform will be gradually integrated into it. Large industrial enterprises of Belarus have placed orders on the Russian platform for more than 100 types of components and materials. About 30 Russian small and medium-sized enterprises have responded to this demand,” he said.

Turchyn also proposed stimulating mutual investment in tourism infrastructure.
