Belarusian Targeted in Robbery Attempt in Warsaw

A 25-year-old Belarusian citizen was attacked in Warsaw’s Ochota district in what police say was an attempted robbery.

The incident took place in late July, RMF reported. The young man was depositing money into an ATM when he was attacked by a group of men. He was knocked to the ground, beaten and dragged toward a car. The Belarusian sustained head injuries, while the attackers stole his wallet containing several thousand zlotys and his mobile phone.

The suspects were detained shortly afterward in the village of Duchnów near Warsaw. They were identified as five Georgian nationals aged between 23 and 29. The suspects have been charged with robbery and attempted homicide. A court ordered that they be held in pre-trial detention for three months.
