Residents of Zhlobin reported a loud, unusual sound on the evening of Aug. 25, suggesting it may have been associated with a drone flying overhead. Flagstok noticed the reports on social media.
According to local residents, at around 5 p.m., a hum resembling the sound of a jet-powered drone was heard on the outskirts of Zhlobin in the Lebedauka area, in the 16th microdistrict, the Rabochy settlement and the Zapadny microdistrict.
The drone itself was reportedly not visible because of low cloud cover. Some residents said they also saw a fighter jet flying at low altitude that evening. It was seen over the workshops of the Belarusian Steel Works and in the city center.
One user also reported that at about the same time, a fighter jet was circling over Sviatlahorsk.
At around 5 p.m., Ukrainian monitoring channels reported military aviation activity in eastern Belarus. In particular, the PPO Radar channel reported at 4:51 p.m. that three Su-30 aircraft had taken off.
On the morning of Aug. 25, monitoring groups also recorded Russian jet-powered drones moving over Ukraine’s Chernihiv region. According to their information, at around 2:40 p.m., six groups of drones were moving from east to west along the Belarusian-Ukrainian border.
