An Ozon logistics center in the Samara region was damaged in a drone attack. A fire broke out at the warehouse, and there were casualties, the company’s press service reported.
The warehouse’s safety systems were activated. More than 500 employees were evacuated within several minutes. Emergency and rescue services and ambulance crews are working at the scene. A hotline has been set up for warehouse employees and their relatives, and psychologists have been brought in.
The logistics center’s operations have been suspended indefinitely. Goods that were stored at the warehouse have been temporarily hidden from the marketplace. Orders that were due to be delivered from the facility will either be canceled with refunds or redirected to other warehouses.
“We are, of course, temporarily not accepting deliveries from sellers for safety reasons. We ask our sellers to choose other warehouses for shipments and submit delivery requests there. Logistics routes to and from the affected warehouse have already been canceled and will be redistributed among other facilities. We will be able to assess the extent of the damage later, but it is important to understand that the service for customers and partners continues to operate 24/7. Our logistics network continues to operate normally, ensuring uninterrupted order processing”, Ozon said.
According to Samara Region Governor Vyacheslav Fedorishchev, the region came under a massive drone attack overnight. He reported several dozen drones shot down or suppressed, damage to one industrial facility and a hit on the Ozon logistics complex. Several people were reported injured.
“One of the industrial facilities was damaged. In addition, a hit on the Ozon logistics complex was recorded”, he wrote.
According to an OSINT analysis by Astra, the fire broke out at an Ozon distribution complex at 3 Industrialnaya Street in Chapayevsk. The outlet noted that the Promsynthez and Polymer facilities, which are involved in the production of explosives, weapons and ammunition, are located about 1 km from the complex. A fire was also reported at the Novokuibyshevsk oil refinery, which is part of the Rosneft group.
