On the evening of Aug. 25, residents of Zhlobin heard the sound of a jet-powered drone and saw a fighter jet flying at low altitude over the city, Flagstok reports.
People wrote on social media that they heard the drone’s hum on the outskirts of Zhlobin in the Lebedauka area, in the 16th microdistrict, in the Rabochy settlement and in the Zapadny microdistrict at around 5 p.m. The drone itself was not visible because of low cloud cover.
Some also reported seeing a fighter jet flying at low altitude over the workshops of the Belarusian Steel Works and in the city center. One user wrote that at about the same time, a fighter jet was circling over Sviatlauhorsk.
Ukrainian monitoring channels reported military aviation activity in eastern Belarus at around 5 p.m. The PPO Radar channel reported at 4:51 p.m. that three Su-30 aircraft had taken off.
During the day on Aug. 25, monitoring channels recorded a drone flying over Chernihiv region. At around 2:40 p.m., six groups of drones were moving west along the Belarusian-Ukrainian border.
