The Belavezhskaya Pushcha National Park announced the program for the Zubr-Fest festival, which will take place on Sept. 25-26. Instead of the previously announced techno rave in “the very heart of untouched nature,” visitors will attend a two-day pop concert featuring Russian and Belarusian performers.
On the first day, which organizers grandly called “The Breath of Belavezhskaya Pushcha,” Nastya Kravchenko, Antoha MC, the band PIZZA and Lusia Chebotina will be responsible for calming nature, with a laser show as the finale.
On the second day, titled “The Musical Reserve,” the baton will be passed to German Titov, Eva Polna, the band Drozdы and Igor Nikolaev. The program will conclude with a 3D projection about the history of the forest.
Earlier, the national park had planned to hold a techno rave. The initiative was initially scheduled for April, right during the bird nesting season and a period of quiet in the forest. Following widespread public outrage, the festival was postponed until August and moved from deep in the forest to the parking lot in front of the park’s main entrance.
However, just days before the scheduled date, the organizers gave up and canceled the initiative altogether. The bass never sounded in the forest: the rave was officially canceled, with organizers saying they were “focusing all their efforts” on preparing for Zubr-Fest.
It seems the protected forest will not get the silence it wanted after all — instead of techno vibrations, the trees and birds will be listening to performers from 1990s discos and the Russian show business.
