Well-known Belarusian journalist and blogger, author of one of the most popular YouTube projects among Belarusians, “Zhytsyo-Malina,” Mikita Melkaziorau, died on the night of December 20–21. The news was reported by his friend, journalist Aliaksandr Ivulin.
“My friend Mikita Melkaziorau passed away last night. This is not a prank or some stupid joke. This is reality. And it’s a nightmare. I ask everyone very strongly, especially fellow journalists, not to speculate and not to disturb Mikita’s relatives. As soon as there is any public information, I will let you know,” Ivulin wrote on his blog.
People close to Mikita confirmed this information to Reform.news. On the evening before his death, Mikita felt unwell. He lay down and after some time felt better. He then got up, walked, and lost consciousness. His heart failed. The exact cause of death will be known after an autopsy.
Mikita was known for leading a healthy lifestyle, exercising regularly, not smoking, and not drinking alcohol.
He was 37 years old.
