Polish Customs Seize Three Consignments of Belarusian Cigarettes at the Border

Polish customs officers intercepted three shipments of contraband cigarettes at the Bobrowniki border crossing. According to the Polish customs service, the drivers of three lorries attempted to smuggle the cigarettes into Poland.

The cigarettes were hidden inside the drivers’ cabins — under interior panels and inside a refrigeration unit attached to one of the trucks. In total, 2,600 packs of Belarusian cigarettes were seized, with an estimated value of 50,000 zloty (13,800 dollars).

Two drivers received fines of 20,000 zloty (5,500 dollars) each. A criminal-financial investigation has been opened against the third driver.
