Following complaints online about stores operated by the Russian discount chain Svetofor, MART conducted inspections and found violations at every discount store it checked.
The most common violations included missing price tags, failure to maintain the mandatory assortment of goods required for sale, and failure to provide consumers with required product information.
Inspectors also identified cases of expired products being sold. In Ivanava, 94.5 kilograms of expired meat products worth more than 760 rubles were removed from sale.
Confectionery products worth 290 rubles and minced meat worth 19 rubles were being sold without established expiration dates and without the required information in Homiel. Cheeses worth 320 rubles were also being sold under the same conditions in Minsk.
MART issued recommendations to remedy the violations. The legal entity will be held administratively liable.
MART carried out a similar inspection last year. Violations were also found in every store inspected at that time.
