Authorities in the Iŭje District have already compiled lists of people deemed to be performing poorly during the harvest campaign and submitted them to the military commissariat, according to district military commissar Uladzimir Zhebryk.
According to Zhebryk, the military is assisting agricultural workers with the harvest.
“Work is underway in the district to assist with the harvest campaign. Under the leadership of the chairman of the district executive committee, an official meeting was held to define the tasks and procedures for the participation of the military commissariat. A schedule for visits to farms has been drawn up, and coordination with the heads of agricultural enterprises has been established,” he said.
Representatives of military commissariats are visiting farms and warning workers about the consequences. Lists of “unscrupulous workers” have already been compiled, the Ministry of Defence reported.
“Unfortunately, the district has already identified citizens who are not fulfilling their duties conscientiously. At the request of enterprise managers, information has been collected and forwarded to the regional military commissariat,” Zhebryk said.
Last week, Aliaksandr Lukashenka ordered that people who perform poorly during the harvest campaign be sent into military service. Dzmitry Krutoi, head of the Presidential Administration, later clarified that undisciplined workers would be sent to military training for two to three months.
