Belarusian Deputy Foreign Minister Ihar Sakreta met on Tuesday with Marina Schramm, the representative of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Belarus, and discussed human trafficking and illegal migration with her.
The meeting took place in connection with the start of her diplomatic mission, according to the Foreign Ministry’s press service.
Sakreta gave a brief overview of the main areas of cooperation between the Belarusian government and the IOM, outlined the results achieved so far, identified the key tasks ahead and described the expected outcomes of future cooperation in each of these areas.
“The parties paid particular attention to cooperation in combating human trafficking and illegal migration, regulating external labor migration, and securing funding for the IOM’s project activities in Belarus. Sakreta wished Schramm success in her work in our country.”, the statement said.
