Forecasters have issued an orange-level weather warning due to heat.
“During the day on May 6 (Wednesday), in many areas in the south of the country, the maximum air temperature will reach +30 to +31°C,” the statement said.
At the same time, a yellow-level warning has also been issued for the same day, May 6.
“On May 6 (Wednesday), gusts of wind of 15–20 m/s are expected in places across the country, and thunderstorms are forecast in parts of the north-western half of the country,” it said.
Weather conditions in Belarus will be determined by a slow-moving atmospheric front and a warm, unstable air mass coming from south-western Europe. Partly cloudy conditions are expected. Light fog is possible overnight and in the morning in some areas. Minimum temperatures at night will range from +9 to +15°C, dropping to +5 to +8°C in places, while daytime highs will range from +16°C in the north to +31°C in the south.
