Belarus’ Foreign Exchange Reserves Increase by $36.9 Million in July

Belarus’ foreign exchange reserves stood at $14.19 billion as of Aug. 1, increasing by $36.9 million during July, according to data published by the National Bank of Belarus.

The increase was driven by higher foreign currency reserves, which rose by $35.3 million to $5.809 billion. The value of Special Drawing Rights increased by $3 million to $1.4 billion, while the value of monetary gold declined by $1.4 million to $6.98 billion. The reserve position in the International Monetary Fund and other reserve assets remained unchanged at $0.03 million and $0.1 million, respectively.

Since the beginning of the year, Belarus’ foreign exchange reserves have decreased by $230.3 million. The value of monetary gold has fallen by $487.3 million, the value of Special Drawing Rights has declined by $11.1 million, while foreign currency reserve assets have increased by $268.2 million.
