Food exporters in Belarus will be eligible for partial compensation of transport and logistics costs when exporting to countries in the “far arc.” The relevant resolution was signed by Prime Minister Aliaksandr Turchyn, the government’s press service said.
“The document provides for the implementation of a pilot project under which producers will receive partial compensation in 2027 for transport and logistics costs incurred while exporting food products to ‘far arc’ countries during the second half of 2026, in accordance with approved lists of eligible products and destination countries,” the press service said.
The compensation will amount to:
- 50% of costs for butter, cheese and baby food;
- 30% of costs for poultry meat, powdered milk and dried whey.
To qualify for compensation, exporters will have to meet certain conditions, including increasing the physical volume of exports to the destination country by 10%.
The government’s press service did not disclose which countries are included in the list eligible for support. The term “far arc” has no precise definition and is often used to refer to countries outside the Commonwealth of Independent States.
