Polish border guards prevented a Belarusian citizen from leaving Poland for Russia in a BMW.
According to the press service of Poland’s Border Guard, the incident occurred on 8 March at the Grzechotki crossing. The 27-year-old Belarusian citizen intended to travel to Russia. He arrived at the checkpoint in a BMW with Belarusian license plates. During the inspection, however, a border guard noticed that the same vehicle had previously crossed into Russia but at that time had Czech license plates.
After the alert from Polish border guards, the Czech authorities entered the vehicle into their databases as a wanted vehicle. The BMW is in fact registered to a leasing company in the Czech Republic.
“The vehicle, valued at 120,000 zlotys (about 33,000 dollars), was seized and transferred together with the driver to police officers in Braniewo for further investigation,” the press service said.
