A Telegram chat titled “SIZO No. 1 Kalyadzichy” has been declared “extremist materials.” The decision was made by the Central District Court of Minsk on March 19.
The chat has nearly 1,800 participants and is used by relatives of detainees held in Pre-Trial Detention Center No. 1.
Accusations of extremism are widely used in Belarus to target opponents and dissent.
