The Council of Ministers has authorized Deputy Prime Minister Viktar Karankevich to sign gas supply protocols with Russia. Government Resolution No. 57 of February 2 was published today on the National Legal Internet Portal and entered into force on the day of its adoption.
Earlier, the draft protocols were approved by Alyaksandr Lukashenka. The documents are to define the terms of gas supplies to Belarus.
Viktar Karankevich is authorized to conduct negotiations and sign two protocols:
- A protocol on amendments to the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Belarus and the Government of the Russian Federation on the procedure for forming prices (tariffs) for the supply of natural gas to the Republic of Belarus and its transportation via gas pipelines located on the territory of the Republic of Belarus, dated November 25, 2011.
- A protocol on amendments to the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Belarus and the Government of the Russian Federation on the terms of the purchase and sale of shares and the further activities of the open joint-stock company Beltransgaz, dated November 25, 2011.
It should be noted that a meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Union State was held in Moscow on February 2. However, the list of signed documents does not include these protocols.
