Government Resolution No. 646 of 20 November has been published on the National Legal Internet Portal and entered into force on the day of its adoption.

In the original version, the ban on the use of trailers and semi-trailers registered in Lithuania did not apply when they were travelling from checkpoints on the Belarus–Lithuania border into Belarus, or from Belarus to those checkpoints.

The updated version introduces a new wording of the exemption. The restriction on Lithuanian-registered trailers and semi-trailers no longer applies if they travel — within the established timeframe — “from road border checkpoints located on the Belarus–Lithuania section of the State Border of the Republic of Belarus to the corresponding specially designated locations listed in Annex 1, starting from the day when traffic of vehicles, trailers (semi-trailers) through the border checkpoints Benyakoni (Šalčininkai) and Kamenny Loh (Medininkai) is resumed for cargo operations; from those specially designated locations back to the corresponding road checkpoints after cargo operations; as well as between such specially designated locations in an empty state.”

Annex 1 to Resolution No. 599 contains the list of checkpoints and their corresponding specially designated sites for transshipment, trailer swapping, and refuelling of vehicles.
