U.S. Special Envoy for Belarus John Coale said he continues working on the release of political prisoners in Belarus. This follows from his reply on X to a message from user Lisa.
“I am Belarusian. I am the wife of a political prisoner. We have small children. My husband has not been released yet, but I have hope and I bless you, Mr. John Coale,” she wrote.
“Working on it. John Coale,” he responded.
In 2025, with the assistance of the United States, 342 people were pardoned. In total, from July 2024, 569 political prisoners have been released under the pardon procedure.
