Belarusian banks issued loans worth 19.2 billion rubles to legal entities in July, 700 million rubles less than in June. The National Bank of Belarus published the data. Lending increased by 21.6% compared with the same month last year.
The amount of loans issued in the first seven months increased by 20.1% compared with the same period last year, reaching 124.17 billion rubles.
Short-term lending in January-July increased by 20.5% compared with the same period last year to 107.1 billion rubles, while long-term lending rose by 17.9% to 17.07 billion rubles.
Legal entities’ outstanding loan debt to banks stood at almost 68.86 billion rubles as of Aug. 1. It decreased by 196.6 million rubles over the month. Over the year, the amount of debt increased by 12.6%.
Legal entities’ outstanding short-term loan debt increased by 0.7% over the year to 28.55 billion rubles, while long-term debt rose by 22.7% to 40.32 billion rubles.
Overdue debt owed by legal entities to banks amounted to 386.3 million rubles as of Aug. 1. It decreased by 30.5 million rubles in July. Compared with Aug. 1, 2025, overdue debt decreased by 131 million rubles.
