Aliaksandr Lukashenka said Belarus and the western part of the Russian Federation face a “common problem.” At a meeting with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, he expressed confidence that it would be resolved.

“Looking ahead, we will talk about our common problem, which we have to address in southern Belarus and western Russia. It is indeed a problem. But we will solve it. We will solve it, no matter how much someone may not want us to,” he said. “And as for who wants it or does not want it, we have already figured out these wishes with you and understand very well what is happening around us.”

“Therefore, I wish us — because we have to resolve all these issues together — success in dealing with these problems. But we will deal with them,” Lukashenka added.

Lukashenka is scheduled to hold talks with Vladimir Putin tomorrow.
