Belarus and the United States continue to work on restoring the functioning of the US Embassy in Minsk, US President’s Special Envoy for Belarus John Coale said following talks with Alyaksandr Lukashenka.
“We did indeed discuss this issue during the meeting with President Lukashenka. Before our trip here, we held extensive consultations with the US State Department and other relevant agencies. Work is ongoing in this direction. I cannot name any specific dates. But the work continues, and both sides agreed that this is very important,” he said.
It should be recalled that the US Embassy in Belarus fully suspended operations in February 2022. Since then, its team has been working from Vilnius.
