Zepter Bank joined five other Belarusian banks on Monday in introducing a fee for accepting cash Russian rubles.
Under the new rules, a 3% fee will be charged on cash Russian-ruble deposits to current accounts (without a bank payment card) opened by non-residents. For accounts opened from June 22 onward, the fee applies immediately, while for previously opened accounts it will take effect on July 23.
Earlier, a similar fee was introduced by MTBank, BNB-Bank, Technobank, Alfa-Bank and Sber Bank. In most of these banks, the fee amounts to 5%, while at Technobank it is 2%.
