A farewell ceremony for politician and scholar, former Belarusian presidential candidate Aliaksandr Milinkevich will be held in Warsaw on Aug. 22. He will be buried in the Polish capital at the Powązki Military Cemetery. His wife, Ina Kuley, said.
The farewell ceremony for Milinkevich will begin at 10 a.m. at St. John’s Cathedral at 8 Świętojańska Street.
The service will begin at noon.
The funeral is scheduled for 3 p.m.
“Everyone who wishes to honor the memory of Alaksandar Milinkievich is invited to attend. May he rest in peace,” Kuley wrote.
Aliaksandr Milinkevich’s death was reported on Aug. 11. In November last year, he underwent a complex carotid artery operation. He remained in serious condition for a long time afterward and underwent rehabilitation.
