The Russian government has adopted a resolution allowing the production, sale and import of Euro 2, Euro 3 and Euro 4 gasoline. The measure will remain in effect until July 1, 2027.

Fuel stations will be required to indicate the environmental class of the fuel they sell so that consumers can make an informed choice.

The Russian government had previously relaxed automotive fuel quality standards. In early July, it authorised the production and sale of gasoline with a sulfur content of no more than 150 milligrams per kilogram, corresponding to the Euro 3 standard.
