Belarusian Prime Minister Aliaksandr Turchyn has instructed responsible government bodies to ensure the implementation of approaches approved by Alyaksandr Lukashenka to raise housing and communal services tariffs in 2026 starting from March 1 instead of January 1.
To this end, a government resolution and the necessary decisions by executive committees will be adopted.
“This measure is aimed at protecting the interests of citizens and will make it possible to offset the increase in heating payments under the prevailing weather conditions,” the government said.
It was reported earlier that Alyaksandr Lukashenka decided to postpone the date of the increase in housing and communal services tariffs for the population from January 1 to March 1, 2026. According to his press service, the government had submitted the corresponding proposal to him, and Lukashenka supported it.
“The decision was taken based on approaches aimed at preventing an additional burden on citizens when paying for housing and communal services,” the press release said.
