Strengthening defense capability will be one of Belarus’s priorities in 2026–2030, Prime Minister Alyaksandr Turchyn said at the All-Belarusian People’s Assembly.
“Today, production and technological capacity and the organization of the defense sector of the economy are turning into a powerful innovative resource in the interests of strengthening the country’s defense capability. A scientific and technical groundwork has been created and technologies for the production of high-precision missile weapons and small arms have been mastered, and serial production of unmanned aerial systems, communications equipment, radar, and electronic warfare systems has been ensured,” he said while presenting the Program of Social and Economic Development of the Republic of Belarus for 2026–2030 for approval.
“The task has been set to develop the defense sector of the economy in order to implement an independent military policy in line with national interests and to ensure the Republic of Belarus’s readiness for the stable functioning of the state in wartime. It is planned to establish innovative centers and laboratories for the development of the latest models of weapons and military equipment,” the prime minister added.
