Belarus’ gold and foreign exchange reserves stood at $15.266 billion as of May 1. In April, they increased by $24.4 million following a decline in March, according to data published by the National Bank of Belarus.
In April, the value of monetary gold included in the reserves rose by $5.9 million to $7.987 billion, the value of Special Drawing Rights increased by $14.2 million to $1.416 billion, and reserve assets in foreign currency grew by $4.3 million to $5.86 billion. The reserve position in the IMF and other assets remained unchanged at $0.03 billion and $0.1 billion, respectively.
Since the beginning of the year, reserves have increased by $843.5 million, including a $519.1 million rise in the value of monetary gold, a $2.2 million increase in SDRs, and a $322.1 million increase in foreign currency reserve assets.
