The Interior Ministry press service reported the detention of three young foreign nationals on suspicion of an armed robbery in the Smalyavichy District. One of the detainees is 17 years old, while the other two are 18. Three people were also reported injured. The attack was described as contract-based.
According to the press service, an alarm was triggered at a residential house in the Smalyavichy District at around 4 a.m. today. Officers from the Interior Ministry’s Department of Protection were dispatched to the scene.
Upon arrival, police blocked the house where three armed suspects were located.
“They resisted, and police officers used automatic weapons. Two of the attackers were detained immediately, while the third fled with a weapon. A special plan to detain armed criminals was introduced in the Zhodzina and Smalyavichy districts. After a brief search, the third suspect was caught on the territory of the Smalyavichy District,” the statement said.
Interior Minister Ivan Kubrakou arrived at the scene. An investigative task force is working there.
“Given that the attack was contract-based, officers of the National Central Bureau of Interpol have joined the investigation. The three injured people (born between 1958 and 1962) were taken to hospital,” the press service said.
