Forecasters have issued a storm warning with an orange level of danger.
“On Aug. 18 (Tuesday), heavy rain is expected in many parts of the country, while thunderstorms are expected in the southeast of the republic, with squally winds of 15-20 m/s in some areas during thunderstorms. Heavy rain is expected in Minsk on the morning and during the day on Aug. 18,” the warning says.
On Tuesday, the weather in Belarus will be influenced by a cyclone moving from western Ukraine into the country. The minimum overnight temperature will generally be +9 to +15°C, reaching +18°C in the south. During the day, maximum temperatures will not exceed +14 to +20°C in areas experiencing prolonged rain, while in the southeast, temperatures will rise to +21 to +27°C during periods of clearing.
