Airport services at Minsk National Airport are operating in enhanced mode amid difficult weather conditions caused by ongoing snowfalls. This was reported by the airport administration.
Intensive snow removal and treatment of airfield infrastructure with anti-icing agents have been ongoing for the second day. The airport continues to operate normally despite the severe weather, the press release noted. Additional machinery reserves have been deployed, and work crews and drivers have been reinforced.
For flight safety, around 50 units of specialised snow-removal and municipal equipment have been engaged, including machines for distributing chemical agents. More than 220 airport employees are involved, with reinforced teams of workers and drivers.
According to the airport’s press service, snow-removal equipment is operating on the runway almost continuously. At the same time, pre-flight anti-icing treatment of aircraft is underway to remove frozen precipitation and prevent its formation before take-off.
The airport emphasised that it has sufficient resource reserves to ensure stable operations in difficult weather conditions. A sufficient stock of all types of anti-icing fluids and airfield treatment reagents has been accumulated.
Passengers are advised to plan their trip to the airport in advance, taking into account weather conditions and road situations. The current status of flights is available on the official airport website and from airlines.
Earlier today, many flights from Minsk Airport were delayed due to the weather.
