Vitsyebsk customs officers prevented an attempt to illegally import a large shipment of household appliances from Russia. An IVECO truck was stopped during special operations on the Belarusian-Russian section of the border in the Dubrouna district.
As the State Customs Committee reported, the driver was unable to provide any documents for the transported cargo, including documents confirming the legal import of the goods into the EAEU territory. Customs officers found around 2,700 items, including drills, portable speakers, vacuum sealers, multicookers, irons and vacuum cleaners, with a total value of nearly 320,000 Belarusian roubles.
Vitsyebsk Customs launched administrative proceedings under Article 13.12 of the Code of Administrative Offences. The violator faces a fine of up to 50% of the value of the goods.
