Voting in the election to the Coordination Council has concluded. According to data from the voting platform, 2,113 people took part. The bloc of Pavel Latushka, Deputy Head of the United Transitional Cabinet and Head of the National Anti-Crisis Management, received the largest number of votes.

According to preliminary results, the votes were distributed as follows:

  • “European Choice” — 295 votes (13.96%),
  • “Stop Being Afraid!” — 134 votes (6.34%),

Voting was stopped today at 12:00 p.m. Minsk time.

After voting ended, the Election Commission held a livestream during which Coordination Council mandates were allocated. The electoral threshold for a list to enter the council is 3%. As a result, eight of the nine electoral lists received mandates. The “Law and Order” list failed to enter the Coordination Council.

The seats in the Coordination Council were distributed as follows:

  • “Your Voice” — 4 mandates,
  • “European Choice” — 11 mandates,
  • “Stop Being Afraid!” — 5 mandates,
  • the “Volya” movement — 8 mandates,
  • “United Civic Platform” — 6 mandates,
  • “Nastup” — 8 mandates,
  • “Belarusians of Action” — 4 mandates,
  • “Latushka Coalition and For Freedom Movement” — 34 mandates.

According to Pavel Liber, who was responsible for the voting platform’s technical infrastructure, it was available for 95.2% of the voting period.

“Seventy-three people definitely could not vote due to technical reasons. This means that they fell into the exact gap when they received a ballot but were unable to record their vote because of an attack on us or on our partner,” he said.

During the DDoS attack, 24 billion requests and 65 terabytes of traffic were directed at the platform.

The Election Commission is expected to approve the final election results later. Electoral subjects may submit complaints until May 21. If no complaints are filed, the results will be approved on May 22.

It should be recalled that in 2024, during the previous Coordination Council election, 6,723 people cast their votes. Following those results, the coalition of Latushka and the For Freedom Movement also received the highest number of votes and ultimately secured 28 mandates.
